Hull Friends of the Earth Litter Picks 2020

2020 has been a difficult year on many levels, but has also brought us closer together and more aware of the environment around us. A good example is the number of litter picking groups that have emerged around the Hull and E Riding: all dedicated to improving the local area. Such a wonderful and uplifting thing to see!

Reducing waste and litter is a key element to the work of Hull Friends of the Earth, and underpins some of the key national campaigns such as Plastics and the Environment, and Protect Nature (https://friendsoftheearth.uk/issues). Litter is not only unsightly - did you know that the RSPCA receive more than 5000 calls per year from about litter and wildlife? (https://www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfare/litter).

Here are some pictures of the HFOE group and their socially distant litter picking efforts in 2020!
